DU teachers move HC seeking direction to pay salaries of past four months - Times of India
NEW DELHI: Some teachers of Delhi University Tuesday approached the Delhi High Court seeking direction to the universities that are affiliated to the varsity and absolutely funded by the AAP authorities to launch their salaries pending for the final four months.

The petition, which is probably going to come up for listening to on September 17, mentioned other than these teachers there are different workers, instructing and non-instructing workers, who haven’t acquired their salaries for the months of May, June, July and August.

The eight teachers, who’ve filed the plea by advocates Ashok Agarwal and Kumar Utkarsh, mentioned they’re members of Delhi University Teachers Association (DUTA), which on behalf of the aggrieved workers, has been writing to the Delhi authorities for launch of funds to allow the 12 DU faculties, funded by the AAP authorities, to pay due salaries to 1500 teachers and non-instructing workers working there.

“The impugned actions are unjust, unfair, arbitrary, discriminatory, unethical, unconstitutional, violative of Articles 14 and 21 of the Constitution of India learn with the provisions of Delhi University Act, 1922.

“The impugned actions are bad in law as much as the same is violative of right to life as well as right to livelihood as guaranteed under Article 21 of Constitution of India,” the plea contended.

It sought direction to the authorities to pay salaries to the petitioners due from May this 12 months until date and in addition guarantee well timed fee of salaries in future.
